Children's Voice, Piano
Alyra Minayeva is a contemporary composer from Victoria currently pursuing her Bachelors in Classical Music performance. Her compositions are inspired by the beauty of nature: The sky at dusk, the northern forest at night, and the ocean. For the past two years, she has been an active member of the Victoria Conservatory of music’s Choral, Voice Collegium, and the Classical performance Diploma program. She has been studying piano and writing melodies since the age of six and has worked as a recording session artist for musicians and bands across Canada, the US, and Russia. This year she was a recipient of the Valhall Arts Scholarship. Alyra will be teaching introductory piano lessons for all ages 4 and up. Her goal as a teacher is to equip students with the necessary foundational skills to deepen their understanding of music while encouraging creative freedom. Students will learn musical expression, correct posture, and musical notation through fun, supportive and artistic lessons.
